18th ANNUAL PALM SUNDAY SEDER SUPPER - Sunday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m.

Please plan to join us for this ancient freedom supper, which is the meal that Jesus was participating in “on the night in which he was betrayed.”  From this supper, we learn the roots of Holy Communion as practiced by Christians the world over.  Come experience a Seder.  Sign up on the kiosk and choose your potluck dish.

NOONTIME PRAYERS are being offered every weekday during Lent.  If you would like to join us in the sanctuary for a brief time of silence, reflection and prayer, please be here by noon.  If you are unable to be with us at church, take a moment to offer your prayers at noon each day.

MIDWEEK LENTEN VESPERS continue this week with Soup Supper provided by the Confirmation groups at 6 p.m. and Holden Evening Prayer at 7 p.m.

MONDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY - Join us at 7 p.m. in the library. The reading is John 12:1-8, for the Fifth Sunday in Lent. Bring your Bible and join the conversation.

PRAYER IN THE NARTHEX FOR LENT, we created a “prayer chapel” in the Narthex, to focus you on active praying:  Each prayer box has a different guided prayer for you to try out.  You are welcome to explore the stations any time you are here at church.

DEVOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES - the Lenten season is a time to explore our relationship with Christ and we are pleased to offer several devotional opportunities.  Electronic devotions are being posted on our website daily, and you can sign up for email delivery.  We also have number 2 in the Book of Faith series: Marks of the Christian: a study of Romans 12.   We also have several devotionals available for purchase in the office.

PRAYER FIRST has two different opportunities for you to join us.  Prayer First meets each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.  If you’d rather join us for the evening session we gather on the first and third Thursday evenings of each month at 6:15 p.m.  If you have any questions please call Andrea at 681-4907 or Hillary at 780-4408.

ADVENT’S SECOND SERVE DAY this month will be Saturday, March 27th from 10am to Noon. We will be coloring and assembling give-away items for Easter Sunday. Let’s share the good news with our friends and all of our guests with warm hospitality and cool coloring sheets!

ARE YOU COLLECTING YOUR 30 PIECES OF SILVER? Don’t forget to gather your 30 pieces of silver in a small bag which will be offered at the foot of the cross during prayers on Good Friday, April 2nd. This ingathering of change will be included with the Lenten offerings, which are being given to Mother’s Hands and to ELCA Disaster Response to go toward relief projects in Haiti and Chile.

THE “HUTCHINSON PROJECT” -  The Hutchinson Family is gathering items to send to Haiti in support of an effort Donna is spearheading to bring physical therapy to those in need following injuries suffered in the earthquake.  Please visit the poster in the narthex to see what items you might be able to donate (from your closets and your wallets!) Thanks to our 3 Crew Junior High group that is helping out.

HAITI RELIEF ingathering has reached 5.9 million, with $320,000 from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  All of these funds go directly to relief efforts through Lutheran World Relief.  None of this money is used for administration.  In addition, LWR is already on the ground assisting after the earthquake in Chile.

SPRING CLEAN UP DAY is this coming Saturday, March 20th.  Please plan to join us and help make Advent more beautiful for the Easter season.

SPRING CLEANING AT HOME? If you run across fabric, sheets, pillow cases, etc. We’d love to have them as quilting materials. If you have any questions please contact Julie Coons at 913-829-4707.
