Advent Lutheran Church

February 2 - Travel Day

Happy Groundhog Day!  Or, for the more liturgically minded, Blessed Candlemas (this is the day we bless candles for use during the year) or Presentation of Our Lord.  For those who don't care about either of those, Happy Last Season of Lost or 6-more-days-to-Super Bowl.

Whatever you are thinking about today, add a little prayer for our delegation who are departing from all over the US today, to arrive in London tomorrow, where we will converge and begin our pilgrimage.

I'm excited, and a little bit nervous - but knowing that you are all thinking and praying for me helps.  One other request:  many of you know my friend and colleague Dee Ann Heptas who was a pastor at Heritage United Methodist.  She is the woman who facilitated our focus group conversations about worship last year.  Her husband, Mike, a retired Lenexa Police Officer, died Sunday of cancer.  Her son, Charlie is a good friend of Nathan Hawley, and so there are multiple Advent connections.  Please surround her and the family in your prayers.

I'll be back with you as soon as I can get connected in cyberspace.  Blessings to you.  Pastor Susan
