Children International

In October 2009 Advent launched a new Service Ministry project through Children International.  The group, headquarterd in Kansas City, offers sponsorships of children born into extreme poverty.  Most of the sponsored children live in Third World countries.  Advent's focus is on the children of the Bayaguana and Los Tanquecitos villages in the Dominican Republic.  So far, individual Advent members are sponsoring more than 70 children in these villages, providing much-needed medical and dental care, emergency food and clothing, and antibiotics.

In addition to being a tangible sign of the love of Christ for these children, Advent's project works for a long-term impact: helping these children envision a future that is much brighter than the dire circumstances into which they were born.

So don't just sit there; change the world!  To sponsor a child, or to learn more about Children International, go to www.children.org.  A child who looks like one of the kids in the picture above is waiting for you.
